Glimpse of the events and seminars organized in 2021-22

BrandMaster - The Game of Brands

Brand Master was a quiz based on brands wherein the participants had to recognize the brand name with the help of provided logos, taglines, brand ambassadors, and their parent companies. To make it more interesting, questions were of various kinds like matching the taglines with their respective brands, audio/translation-based questions, etc. The event was executed in two different rounds varying based on difficulty level. The event was conducted in online mode through forms.

CRICK TAMBOLA

“Commpact ki pitch par lagge the prizes ke chakke”. CRICK TAMBOLA – under IPL FEVER 2.0, was a fun tambola game with a cricketing twist in it. Instead of numbers, participants had Cricket players’ pictures on their tickets and they had to guess the cricketer from the given question or hint and strike him off. Some of the questions were – In June 2019, this player became the first bowler for New Zealand to take a hat-trick in the cricket world cup; Virat Kohli was his first IPL Wicket, etc. It was conducted in online mode via Google Meet.

AAP KI AWAAZ

Aap Ki Awaaz – under IPL FEVER 2.0, was a fun interactive event wherein the participants’ passion for public speaking, spoke for them. It was a witty event consisting of two rounds. In Round-1, the participants had to record audio of themselves commentating on the short video clip provided to them in a unique and funny style of speech. The best entries were shortlisted for the final round wherein all the finalists were provided with some match statistics beforehand and then they performed their prepared set of commentary in the presence of a live audience and the judges.

IPL AUCTION

IPL Auction – under IPL FEVER 2.0, was a fun event wherein the Round-1 was a quiz base round on IPL teams and players whereas the second round was a Bidding War amongst the qualifiers from the Rond-1. The quiz was conducted via Google Forms and the auction was managed through a Zoom meeting. The Bidders had a very tough competition amongst each other. Through this event, people learned about managing various things simultaneously like their funds, players, bonus points, and various other qualifying criteria set by the organising team.

Our bidders experienced the same adrenaline rush as you did while watching the INDIA vs PAKISTAN match.

Webinar on ‘START YOUR START-UP in 48hrs’

It’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen. Everyone has an idea but bringing that idea to life does not come easy. But don’t worry, we got you covered! Commpact organized an interactive session with Mr. Shivam Ahuja who is the Founder/CEO at Skill Circle, CEO at Delhi Angels, and founder of Delhi Start-ups. He is also a Business Advisor at Atal Incubation Center BIMTECH, a TEDx Speaker, and an investor at Coinally.io.

The takeaways from the session were:
● A person who undertakes the risk of starting a new business venture is called an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur creates a firm to realize their idea, known as entrepreneurship.
● The speaker highlighted the importance of a great team and individuals. Following that, he stated that if the team is Ok-Ok but your prototype is excellent, you can also achieve great heights.
● The speaker asked everyone to focus on the principle of developing your inner friend circle, as you are the product of who you hang out with. He added that one should always execute the idea and there are certainly people who’ll pick you up if you fall.

Webinar on ‘HOW TO HAVE A GROWTH MINDSET?’

Whether it’s your business or even that someone special you want to impress, having positive energy and a growth mindset is a key trait that separates you from everyone else. And we have a wonderful solution for you, Commpact organized a very insightful and interactive session with Mrs. Mehar Sindhu Batra who is an Entrepreneur, a Career Coach, and a Youtuber. Throughout the session one of the most important thought that she quoted was ‘‘Change your words to change your mindset’’. She also interacted with the audience and even took up their questions and suggestions. It was indeed a great and insightful session.

FINANCIAL LITERACY SESSION

COMMPACT – The Commerce Society of MAIMS in collaboration with Be.Artsy (Official Financial Awareness Partner: NSE)  presented a Financial Literacy Session addressed by Ms. Shikha Mittal, Founder, and Director of Be.Artsy.

The key highlights of the webinar were:

  • The speaker addressed the key aspects ,fundamentals and power of money.
  • Savings and Investments are two basic aspects of money. 
  • Importance of financial planning and the three stages of being financially healthy were covered.
  • “Your attitude will take you a long way. Be grateful and keep trying’’.

BIG BIZ TYCOON

Big Biz Tycoon – Fuel your Futurepreneur, was a fun event for all the business fanatics, organised by Commpact – The Commerce Society of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies in collaboration with Mohur – The Association of Commerce of Janki Devi Memorial College. The event consisted of two rounds. The first round – Map the Minds was a quiz round in which participants’ entrepreneurial knowledge was tested. Based on the accuracy, the participants qualified for the second round – LaunchPad. In this round, the participants got surprise elements which included redirections. The qualifying participants were ought to follow the redirections and had to prepare and pitch their business proposal in front of the panelists. This round was held via G-Meet.

ORIENTATION 2021

Orientation 2021 was a very wholesome event with a flood of responses which converted into the participation as well! We made everyone familiar with what Commpact represents and what it provides to its members and all that it goes by. It was an exciting event even for us as we got to interact with our freshers and loved answering all their queries.

And for the fun element, we had organised a short quiz game — The Mindboggler. In the game, there were 4 sections ranging from Bollywood advertisements to brands and companies we had it all covered. The participant who had the most correct answers and completed the quiz earliest was declared as the winner.

RECRUITMENT 2021

Despite the ongoing global pandemic, the responses that we received for our recruitment drive were overwhelming. We couldn’t have much of offline promotions for the recruitment process but it didn’t affect the responses at all, infact they were a lot more than the past years!

From promotions on personal Instagram handles to WhatsApp to LinkedIn to Making Memes and many more, we had it all covered.

INDUCTION 2021

Now that we had our new Commpact team ready, we planned our first offline event — Induction 2021 and our treasure hunt `Search ‘N’ Shape’ We had our first offline interaction with the new members and it was a brief but a very interactive session as all the members participated readily in the discussion. The main motive of the treasure hunt was to enhance interaction between the members themselves of same and different departments as this would help them to network and be aware of what all members are working with them and spot a chance to grow mutually.

Search 'N' Shape

COMMPACT has always been for its members and to prove this we had organised an offline surprise event for our members — Search ‘N’ Shape. This was a treasure hunt based on shapes wherein 12 teams were made and each team had 4-5 members. Each team was given 5 clues. The teams had to decipher the clues and reach a respective place in the campus where then they were given the next clues by our executive members. The team which found all the clues at the earliest and made the correct figure emerged as the winner. The winners were provided with certificates and vouchers!

Career Avenues Through Education In India or Abroad

Commpact, in collaboration with Jamboree Education, organised a webinar on “Career Avenues Through Education In India or Abroad” addressed by Mr. Arun Bhatia, Jamboree India’s Regional Manager for Delhi/NCR & Chandigarh.

During the session, our speaker enlightened us with his knowledge about job alternatives, educational options, admission standards, and the international admissions process. He discussed the GRE and GMAT exams, as well as STEM programmes. He also shared his thoughts on the top seven nations to study in and their educational systems. It was indeed a very insightful session.

FINVERSE

“FINVERSE” was an interesting event organized by team Commpact.

Finverse was a quiz-based event wherein questions from all fields like banking, commerce, economics, finance and current affairs were covered. There were 2 rounds, the 1st round was a crossword-based quiz round which was conducted on google forms. The 4 qualifying teams came for the 2nd round.
In the 2nd round, there was a live- rapid fire quiz based on the TV Show ‘Family- Feud’ which was conducted on Google meet.
